Common Name: Marsh Dewflower, Asian Spiderwort

Murdannia Keisak is an uncommon stem plant that adds a wild, grassy look to planted aquariums. This bamboo-like aquatic marsh plant features thin, upright stems with narrow green leaves that spread in a natural, untamed pattern—unlike the more structured growth of Rotalas or Ludwigias. It’s slightly messy, organic look makes it an ideal choice for nature-style aquariums, biotopes, or paludariums, where that “intentional wildness” brings a more realistic feel to the aquascape.

While Asian Spiderwort is considered a semi-aquatic plant typically found in its emersed form in nature, it can be grown in both submerged and emersed conditions under high lighting and in nutrient-rich water. Providing this plant with CO2 is optional, but will promote faster, fuller growth. With minimal demands and versatile growth, it’s a rewarding plant for aquascapers seeking a natural accent.

Notes:

  • Murdannia Keisak can be grown in both submerged and emersed environments
  • Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro in a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests, pesticides, or algae are introduced into the aquarium.
  • Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.

  • CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth.
